Position Background

To support the continued growth and expansion of Qoo10's Entertainment Business, we are seeking a highly motivated business development professional to lead the growth of our ticketing business. This role will be responsible for developing and operating the ticketing business in Japan, including identifying and acquiring new partners, securing ticket inventory, developing ticket-related products, and driving sales operations. This is a hands-on business development role that requires not only strategic planning but also direct execution, including business development, partnership management, contract negotiations, and commercial operations.

Role: Business Development & Operations Manager – Ticketing Business

This position will lead the development and operation of Qoo10 Japan's ticketing business by identifying ticket sales opportunities, acquiring ticket inventory, establishing strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & New Partner Acquisition

  • Drive customer acquisition initiatives within Japan's entertainment market.
  • Identify, approach, and establish partnerships with talent agencies, record labels, concert promoters, event organizers, and other entertainment stakeholders.
  • Source and secure ticket sales opportunities.
  • Develop strategic alliances to accelerate business growth and revenue expansion.

Ticket Product Development & Sales Operations

  • Identify and onboard ticket inventory for concerts, fan meetings, sporting events, exhibitions, and other entertainment experiences.
  • Negotiate and secure exclusive sales rights and pre-sale opportunities.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract execution with partners.
  • Develop and manage ticket sales plans and operational processes.
  • Analyze sales performance and implement optimization strategies to maximize results.

Entertainment Partnership Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with entertainment agencies, labels, promoters, and event organizers.
  • Identify emerging entertainment content, intellectual property (IP), and business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop exclusive Qoo10 offerings and experiences.
  • Expand Qoo10's entertainment ecosystem and market presence in Japan.

Qualifications (Must Have)

Experience

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Business development, sales, or new business acquisition
  • Development, sales, or operations of ticketing products or entertainment-related services
  • Business operations within e-commerce or digital platform environments
  • Partnership development within the entertainment industry

Experience focused on the Japanese market is strongly preferred.

Industry Background

Experience in one or more of the following industries:

  • Ticketing platforms or ticketing service providers
  • Entertainment companies
  • Concert, live event, or event management companies
  • E-commerce platforms
  • Digital service companies

Skills

  • Strong understanding of Japan's entertainment industry and market dynamics
  • Proven track record in business development and partnership acquisition
  • Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and alliance management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business growth and achieve revenue targets

Language

  • Native-level Japanese proficiency (required)

Academic Background

  • University graduate and above

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Established network within talent agencies, concert promoters, event organizers, or entertainment companies
  • Experience securing ticketing rights or exclusive ticket inventory
  • Experience leading or managing an entertainment-related business unit
  • Experience operating ticketing businesses within an e-commerce platform
  • Korean language proficiency (business or conversational level)

Employment Conditions

  • Days Off: Two-day weekend system (Saturday and Sunday), plus company holidays, Available to work on weekends and public holidays when required for events
