About the Role

The Role

Based in Hong Kong, this senior role is responsible for driving revenue growth and market leadership across both Western and Asian Modern & Contemporary art categories in Asia. As a senior business-getting specialist, the role focuses on originating, securing, and transacting high-value works across auctions, private sales, and curated exhibitions. Leveraging deep market expertise and an established network, the Specialist will play a pivotal role in expanding Christie's client base, unlocking major consignments, and delivering cross-category growth opportunities.

Working closely with global specialists in Europe and the U.S., as well as regional teams across Asia, this individual serves as a key commercial leader—bridging Western and Asian markets, connecting collectors, and driving strategic client development across geographies. The position also provides leadership in executing global category strategies in Asia, ensuring alignment across sales, exhibitions, and long-term market development initiatives.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Lead business-getting efforts across both Western and Asian Modern & Contemporary categories, with a strong focus on securing high-value consignments and driving sales
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow market share and revenue across auctions and private sales in Asia
  • Identify and unlock major collections and single-owner opportunities, including cross-category propositions

Client Leadership & Relationship Management

  • Act as a senior relationship owner for top-tier collectors, advisors, and trade clients across both international and Asian markets
  • Expand and deepen client engagement through strategic advisory, tailored selling approaches, and long-term relationship building
  • Partner closely with Client Strategy teams to identify and convert high-potential prospects

Cross-Category Expertise & Advisory

  • Provide authoritative expertise across Western and Asian Modern & Contemporary art, advising on pricing, market positioning, and sale strategy
  • Drive cross-category selling opportunities, leveraging synergies between Western and Asian markets
  • Contribute to catalogue development, research, and storytelling to enhance commercial impact
  • Act as a senior representative for branding, exhibitions, art fairs, and major client events

Regional & Global Collaboration

  • Serve as partner for Western and Asian Modern & Contemporary initiatives, aligning closely with global category leadership
  • Provide market intelligence, pricing insights, and client feedback to inform global strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with specialists, client strategy, marketing, and operations teams to deliver best-in-class outcomes

The Candidate

  • Proven track record as a senior business-getter at an international level, with demonstrated success in securing major consignments and driving significant sales revenue
  • Deep expertise across Western and Asian Modern & Contemporary art markets, with strong commercial instincts
  • Established, high-quality network across collectors, advisors, galleries, museums, and the broader art ecosystem
  • Exceptional client-facing skills, with the ability to influence, advise, and close at the highest level
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to identify market opportunities and translate them into tangible business outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and Cantonese and/or Mandarin
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex processes and collaborate across regions and functions

Working Conditions

  • Primarily based in Hong Kong, with regional and international travel as required
